Travel notes

What to know

Tartu is a charming city that offers a pleasant atmosphere for a festival trip. In August, the weather can be mild and sunny, but it's a good idea to pack layers for potential cooler evenings. To get to Tartu, many people fly to Tallinn or Riga, but you can also take a ferry to Tallinn from Stockholm or Helsinki. There are buses and trains running from Tallinn and Riga to Tartu. Accommodation and food costs in Estonia can vary, but overall, the city may be relatively affordable for visitors. When planning your trip, it's a good idea to book your accommodation in advance, as options may fill up quickly.
