Overview

Description

Come join us for a vibrant weekend of workshops, live music, and social dancing!
With Sandy & Fancy, Javi & Lucía, and Heiko & Larissa three renowned teacher couples will be teaching Collegiate Shag and Balboa on different Levels. A little bit of Slow Bal is also on the schedule – and for everyone who can't decide: we'll also be looking into mixing Shag & Bal.

For the Friday party, the Daniel Duspiwa Quartett will bring you the sound of the Hammond organ (among other instruments) – blending vintage swing tradition with a fresh, high-energy edge. On Saturday, The Big Five feat. Nicolle Rochelle will take over with their signature hot swing sound, inspired by 1930s/40s Harlem and Chicago – powerful, authentic, and made for dancers.

Early Bird ends June 17th, 2026 – so don't hesitate: Come to Augsburg and join us!

Travel notes

What to know

Augsburg is a charming city in southern Germany, offering a unique blend of history and culture, which should provide a pleasant backdrop for a festival trip. In September, the weather is generally mild, with a possibility of occasional rain, so it's a good idea to pack layers and waterproof gear.
The Hep Cat Club where the entire festival takes places is located right next to Augsburg Main Station, making it extremely easy to reach by public transport – and there are plenty of accommodation and dining options nearby. The closest major airport is Franz-Josef-Strauß Airport in Munich (MUC), with easy public transportation options available to Augsburg. For dancers planning to attend, it's a good idea to book accommodation and register for the festival in advance, as popular events can fill up quickly. Additionally, researching local transport options ahead of time can help make the most of your trip.
